Footpaths In Marldon
Footpath 13 is a public right of way which runs between Vicarage Hill (opposite Meadow Park) and the old ring road close to where a parish boundary stone is located. The path is roughly 220M long. The path can be identified by a signpost at either end and is fenced throughout its length. Several steps exist at either end of the path which slopes gently down to the Vicarage Hill end; at this point a pedestrian gate opens directly onto the highway and extra vigilance is needed when using it. Apart from some imported material for drainage purposes the surface of the path is largely unmade and can be particularly wet and muddy in bad weather. At the top-end of the footpath there is an oak bench where probably the best view in the village can be admired.
