Windthorn Lane is a public right of way (Unclassified Road 2)which runs between Compton (at Compton Pool Cross) and Ipplepen Road (opposite Tanyard Lane) on the Marldon boundary. Windthorn Lane is approximately 800M long and can be identified by a signpost at either end. In places the surface can be very muddy in bad weather, stony and deeply rutted. In the main, the route comprises of a moderate slope down towards Compton, although there is a lengthy rise and fall in the terrain at the Compton end as well.
