Windmill Lane is a public right of way (Unclassified Road 3) which runs between the road from Compton to North Wilborough (at a parish boundary stone just above the higher end of Mill Lane) and Moles Lane (adjacent to the windmill). Only the lower end of this Unclassified Road belongs to the Parish of Marldon and this is about 230M long. The route can be identified by a signpost at either end. The route slopes moderately down towards the Compton to North Wilborough road end, the surface of which is a mixture of rough stone, rutted in places, and unmade ground which becomes muddy in bad weather.
