Over the years, our Marldon Apple Pie Fair has been opened by many famous celebrities, many who were appearing in different venues within the bay for a summer season.
Below are two lists showing the names of all the Pie Fair openers, along with the names of the Apple Pie Fair Princesses.

1960 – “Goodness gracious Mrs .. are they all this big in Marldon?” Doddy has a large carrot for the donkey

1966 – A young comedian Roy Hudd enjoys a cuppa & an apple pie in the marquee (it must have been a wet day!)

1975 – “And it’s goodnight from him” – comedian Ronnie Corbett crowns Princess Carmen Hayward with her Attendants Jason Parnell & Mark Edwards

1982 – Danny La Rue with Princess Jenny Eveleigh and Attendants Claire Harrison & Samantha Chidlow

1986 – Comedians Sid Little & Eddie Large start to cut the Apple Pie into slices

2002 – Ex-world snooker champion Ray Reardon opens the Apple Pie fair, being held at the Primary School this year

2003 – Ex-world snooker champion Ray Reardon cuts the Apple Pie with a little help from Princess Lucie Durbridge
